Thoughts from the Dark Corner: Part 1

Thoughts from the Dark Corner: Part 1

Sometimes I wonder if it is right to interpret art.
I read a poem, I hear a song ...
I shudder ...
And here comes someone to talk about structures , about morphology, about hidden "concrete" meanings behind the words and sounds.
Perhaps we got overenthusiastic over mystery. We are seeking it so desperately, while insisting in calling our insanity love for knowledge.

"The fearful awakening of a campanile,
the culprit: faith must be the first one to wake up. "

How can one analyze such a simply stated meaning?
What else could lie behind those lyrics than the poet's desire to touch our hearts and finally through our emotions to awaken our faith?
We must not confuse speculation with standardization. Because such analysis is actually standardization. And let me believe that this analysis has nothing to do with the speculation that every artist wants to produce. Essentially, this kills the essence of art.
Somebody would say that Art is some kind of expression which manipulates emotions.

 Wrong.
Art is a voice.
A voice which you can not hear simply by having brains and ears.
The voice that so many have tried to silence, stealthily in the dark.
Who else could look like a terrible enemy of this mankind they are trying to create if not Art?
This Art whose main purpose is to awaken consciences.
This Art that touches our dreams and our hopes.
Even the most obscure verse gives us the strength to challenge it.
Those who forgot how to dream and how to talk started analyzing hoping to experience again the same feelings as when they could be touched.
As long as I have my sanity I will write.
If one decides to analyze what I can offer, one is free to do so. If he feels satisfaction with this fact, that would make me happy.
But I would love we discuss his conclusions.
